The Very Last Post!

Hi everyone, Sal here! I'm the one who creates all of the digital stamps for SLS Lines :)

I'm sad to say that we're no longer hosting any new challenges on this blog or sponsoring any further challenges for other blog teams. I may occasionally create a new digital stamp now and then, but there won't be any regular releases from here on in. I do have 150 stamps still available in my stores, lots of quirky and weird, and those will always be available.

I'd love to keep going and creating more images but I'll be blunt  - it costs me money. For real. I gave away far more stamps to teams and challenges than I ever sold. I'm sure the same is true for many other digital stamp sellers too. There are many blogs and challenge teams asking for free images for challenges or for prizes and not a lot of buyers left over. I get that it's fun to create new paper projects and share them with the world. I do understand that. But designers need to get paid for their efforts too. It's a hard balance to strike and I disliked saying no because I get it - creating is fun! :)

Many heartfelt thanks to Sharon, Maureen, Anne Lise and the rest of the design team. You guys have always been awesome and I love what you do with the images. You are creative geniuses!

A special thanks to those of you who have supported my efforts and created beautiful projects over the years. Happy creating everyone!

Enjoy the Gifts of Nature

I love this image from SLS Lines called Fantasy Fox Shaman Medicine Woman and decided to make a art journal page using it.  I think Sal created a very stunning image.

I coloured the medicine woman with PanPastels and Copic Markers. The background of the art journal page was painted, stamped and stenciled.  The top of the page is a gelli print which I used packing tape to remove the design from the gelli plate and I also added some feathers.  The sentiment is by  Inkadinkado which has been in my collection of rubber for a very long time.

Be sure to check out the stamps at SLS Lines as Sal will be discontinuing her stamps soon.  We are sorry to see her go, so be sure to grab the stamps you love from her store before they are gone forever. The store has a great selection of images for all of your crafting needs.

Thank you for stopping by and have a very creative day.

Inspiration

Hello everyone...Genny here with a little inspiration. I had bought myself a notebook to keep track of my bills and the whole thought was so depressing that I just had to decorate it. I began by covering the front of the journal with a piece of black card and stencilled red bubbles all over it.I had some chipboard letters which spelled bills and painted them red with acrylic and then glued them to the edge.I then added some red glitter rope to the left hand side. I then platted some more of the rope to make a bookmark. I attached it to the metal binding and used a red fabric skull to the bottom. I finally added this fabulous piece of artwork..the voodoo king from SLS. I coloured him with my promarkers, cut him out and glued him in place. He look exactly like I feel whenever I have to pay a bill...lol. I am also going to cover the whole front with a piece of adhesive acetate..so that it will be a wipe clean book. I hope that you all like it and will think about covering your own notebooks. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

Inspiration Post

For todays inspiration I decided to use this wonderful image of the fox shaman. As soon as I saw it, I knew that it would be perfect for my parlour. I just love foxes and am lucky enough to see them on a regular basis. I began by painting an 8x8 canvas with my H2Os..a golden colour in the middle and green around the edges. I then stencilled leaves around the edges. I wanted to give the impression that the heart of the forest where the shaman was is glowing. It made me think of the sunshine shining through the leaves. I remember as a child walking home down a lane and the trees formed a canopy over my head and the sunshine twinkled through the leaves.....a magical memory that has always stayed with me. I coloured the shamen with a mixture of my copics and my promarkers..I often mix all my colouring mediums..each give a different look but somehow it seems to work.I finally added the beads by using liquid pearls in many different colours. The only hard thing was finding somewhere for the canvas to dry around my cats..lol. I hope that you will pop over to the SLS Lines shop and take a ook at all the magical images that are available. So until next time...take care and happy crafting.

Lounging Queen in a Chair

I made a card using Lounging Queen in a Chair
I tend to go a little crazy when colouring
but this time I wanted to go a little more safe and classy.

I have coloured with my Copics.
Still have a some areas that I need to practice more
but am really pleased with how this project turned out.

EXTERMINATE!!!!

Hi Everyone!

Today I am sharing a new image for this month - "Fantasy Angry Robot" - available in the SLS Lines Store - perfect for a male themed card!

I've altered a 6 x 4 index card - the background was a mop up card for some excess paint and bits of book page. I added the coloured texture paste through a stencil and some cement coloured embossing powder to the edge of the card. I also found some left over Silhouette cut outs from other projects that matched the mechanical theme and embossed them with the cement look powder. I added the little metal "nuts" - amazing what is in my craft cupboard - and then the computer generated wording and copic coloured and fussy cut robot to finish!!

You know it's always hard to create "make" themed projects but Sal has a great lot of digis and clip art to choose from in her store so make sure you check out the website!!

Rule the World

Hi Susan R here!

Sal has drawn lots of super images for September.
I have decided to use three of them on ATCs and this post shows you the first...

This image 'Rule The World' made me think of the paralympic games!

I coloured it with Promarkers and cut it out.
But then I added it to an ATC to go in my Autumnal/Spidery Mini Journal

Enjoy Dahlia Flowers

I love this image from SLS Lines called  Dahlia Flowers Bouquet and decided to make a card using it.  Flower cards can be used for many occasions and always nice to have on hand.

The image was coloured with Copic Markers, a gell and glitter pen then  die cut and layered over several layers of pattern paper. To complete the card I added a couple of brads, one with a sentiment on it.

Be sure to check out the stamps at SLS Lines as Sal will be discontinuing her stamps very soon.  We are sorry to see her go, so be sure to grab the stamps you love from her store before they are gone forever.

What's New Pussycat???

Hi Everyone

Today I am sharing a set of 3 altered 6 x 4 index cards using digis from the Cute House Cat Set available at the SLS Lines Store!!!!
My mixed media cards have gelli print backgrounds - printed directly onto the lined index card,

I also did some stamping with some leaf/branches and circles (stamps from Dylusions) and I added some extra colour with pastels.

Then I added texture paste through stencils, some torn washi tape and drew a border with a fine black marker.

To finish up I added the fussy cut kitties and computer generated wording!

As you can see the cats were printed onto old book pages and coloured with pastel pencils - love the effect and you will have seen earlier in the month DT Member Susan printed her image on a page and coloured - so effective! And Corrie Herriman posted at Facebook a dog postcard in which she had stamped the dog onto a book page and cut out - it was such a great look - of course I have done it with cats but I got the inspiration from her!!

I am so happy with how these came out!!!

Hope you feel inspired to pop over to the store and grab some images to try this yourself!!
