Inspiration
Hello everyone...Genny here with a little inspiration. I had bought myself a notebook to keep track of my bills and the whole thought was so depressing that I just had to decorate it. I began by covering the front of the journal with a piece of black card and stencilled red bubbles all over it.I had some chipboard letters which spelled bills and painted them red with acrylic and then glued them to the edge.I then added some red glitter rope to the left hand side. I then platted some more of the rope to make a bookmark. I attached it to the metal binding and used a red fabric skull to the bottom. I finally added this fabulous piece of artwork..the voodoo king from SLS. I coloured him with my promarkers, cut him out and glued him in place. He look exactly like I feel whenever I have to pay a bill...lol. I am also going to cover the whole front with a piece of adhesive acetate..so that it will be a wipe clean book. I hope that you all like it and will think about covering your own notebooks. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

Inspiration Post.....Genny
Hello everyone...Genny here. For my inspiration post today. I decided to work with this skull again. I just love them and am always finding different ways to use them. For the one above, I coloured it with my promarkers. I then used it to make a feature on a new sign for my cottage. I had a piece of slate and painted orange flowers around the edge and placed this skull in the bottom left corner. I then covered the whole lot with some exterior Modge Podge several times. It now sits outside my cottage and has created quite a stir. I think that there may be several cottages with a candy skull very soon..lol.
I was intending to stop there but then I decided ton see if it was possible to papercut the same skull...so I did. I took the black and white image and cut out lots of the plain paper. I was also careful to leave a small white area around the whole skull to give it some definition after cutting so much out. I then glued the papercut onto a pink, lilac and blue background paper which I had made using my H2Os. I finally mounted the whole thing onto a piece of black.
There is no doubt that I will be finding other ways to use these skulls. I am aiming to make a panel to decorate my front door and that may well be a collection of skulls. I will share it with you all as soon as I've finished it.
I hope that you will come and join in the new challenge that is due to begin here on the blog tomorrow. The rest of the team has created some wonderful makes. so I hope that you will pop over and join in the fun.So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

Inspiration Post
Hello everyone...Genny here with my inspiration post. For today's make, I chose to work with this fabulous image of the girl and her cat. For those of you that know me it comes as no surprise that I would choose this..I suppose I am officially a crazy cat lady..lol. As with all my inspiration posts, I like to give a little insight to why I have created what I have. Well for this one came about as I was fussing , Raven, one of my cats. I was sat there stroking her and my mind was wandering remembering past times and coming up with ideas for the future. And that was where I began. I liked the idea of ideas and dreams popping around me..so there was the background..I used a bubble stencil with my distress inks and cut out various circles to hold my thoughts. The girl and the cat seemed to be the perfect focal point.
I hope that you will pop over to the SLS Lines shop and have a browse through all the amazing designs. And don't forget that a new challenge is due to begin tomorrow..the rest of the team have created some fabulous makes..so please be sure to take a look at all those. I so love seeing all the wonderful makes that people create. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

Inspiration Post
Hello everyone...Genny here. I always try to include my thought process, when sharing my inspiration..and todays is rather strange. As you know I do have rather a passion for skulls...and my house stands testament to that fact..lol. Well as I was working on these skulls and thought to myself that these would look great outside..something a little different..so that is where they are going to live. They are going on the outside of the door to my studio.I have found a product that allows your artwork to go outside without being damaged..so that's my plan. I have coloured these skulls with my promarkers and have used different colourways on both. These will be joined by the skull from a previous inspiration post and create a panel on the door. When I've completed the door I will share it with you.
I have so enjoyed seeing your creations in the challenges and I hope that you will enter the new challenge that is going to start tomorrow. I have seen the other creations made by the rest of the design team and they are all fabulous...I hope that you will pop over tomorrow and check them out. As always all designs are available from the SLS shop. So until next time...take care and happy crafting.

Inspiration Post
Hi everyone...Genny here with my inspiration post. I have to say to find something from SLS that inspires me is very easy. I just love everything. As you get to know me..goodness help you..lol..you will soon come to recognise what I really love. Skulls, Owls, Cats tend to feature alot and I can get very excited about them. So when I saw this great Candy Skull, I just had to do it. I decided to keep to a very small and muted (for me) pallet..so I stuck to shades of orange with green extras. I love to pick say 4 shades of 1 colour and just to see what it turns out like. I coloured the skull with my promarkers, cut it out and mounted it onto some black card. It is now on the wall in my parlour, alongside other skulls from SLS. I have to say it does surprise strangers to my house..but they always come round to loving what I do..I also have a collection of skulls that I have painted myself plus lots of ornaments of Skulls, including one from Transylvania. Why not take a look at all the skulls that are available from SLS.
One of the things that I love, being part of the DT is seeing all the fabulous creations that the others come up with. And of course I love seeing all your creations that you enter into the challenge. A new challenge is due to begin tomorrow..so I hope that you will all come along and join in the fun. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

Inspiration Post
Hello everyone..Genny here. I'm so excited to have become part of this fantastic team, I don't think that I've stopped smiling yet..lol. This is my first inspiration post..so forgive me if I get it wrong or waffle on too much. I decided to work with wonderful image which is available from the Etsy shop here at SLS Lines. When I begin a project there is always a thought process..and it may begin with the image or sometimes it is with a quote that I have found. On this project it seemed as if both came together. I was looking at this image and thinking just how wistful she looked. There seemed to me that there was a sadness behind her eyes. And then I saw this quote. So it was as if it was meant to be. Another thought that struck me was that normally when I am colouring anything to do with the Day of the Dead I tend to use bright colours but somehow on this image I wanted to use pastel colours. So I did. The frame is from my stash and I covered it with this blue patterned paper, also from my stash. I coloured the lady with my promarkers, cut her out and added it to the frame. I finally added the quote.
I hope that you will enter the current challenge...I think a new one begins tomorrow..so keep your eye on the blog. I have seen some of the fantastic makes by the design team and wow..what a source of inspiration in itself.
Well I'm off for a coffee and a scroll through the etsy store. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

Nude Pin up - Crafting Vicky
Hello everyone! I don't know if you have seen my post in the SLS FB group but I have been doing the journaling by 5s. And I used a great pin up from SLS lines for one of the pages Pin up Nude.
The layout was done while doing the steps and I finally finished the page this morning. I really hope that you like this page.
My sentiment behind it is that we don't accept our bodies and ourselves and we really should no matter what shape we are!
But I have to admit that I would love to have a body like she does lol. I had fun coloring her with my copics.
Hope you like this and will think of using your digis in a different way!!!You can find the details on how I made this on my blog.
Hope you have liked my inspiration for you go and check out the fabulous digis in the store.
Have a great Friday everyone!
Hugs

The Ice Maiden.....
Hello Everyone
I'm here today sharing a new journal page made with another of the fabulous digis available in the store along with some patterned papers also available in the store!
If you haven't seen all the collage images and digital paper sets please make sure you check them out - they are great to team up with the great digi stamps Sal draws!!
The background for this page is made using strips of the patterned papers - a great way to use up off cuts and scraps and if you are like me you can never bear to throw anything away!!
I used a sponge to drag a bit of gesso over the strips once they were stuck down to blend them into the background. I then used 2 blue coloured "Lindy's Stamp Gang" Sprays on the background. I just had to add some Stampendous "Shaved Ice" to the page so she really does look like a Snow Queen. Great stuff I love the sparkle and shine. You will see I added puff paint to her wrap so she looks nice and cool - in fact the whole page has a "cool" feel. A beautiful image to create with.
Here are the direct links to the items I have used today:
Snow Queen digi (a beautiful image)
Mint & Teal patterned papers (love the soft colours and patterns of this set)
Look forward to sharing my creations with you again soon!

Zombie Lady Portrait - Crafting Vicky
Hello everyone! I've gotten totally HOOKED to doing some mixed media! It's so fun and dirty lol For this inspiration post I'm sharing something I made using Zombie Lady. I thought she would be perfect for my little altered children book about coffee!
Let's be honest... lots of us would look like zombies if we didn't have some coffee in the morning... and even then bwahahahaha
And here's a closer look at the great digi that I colored with my copics.
So do you think that she needs her coffee?!? I would be giving it to her to make sure that she got away from me lol. You can check out all the details on how I made this on my blog.
Hope you have liked my inspiration for you go and check out the fabulous digis in the store.
Have a great Sunday everyone!
