NEW Release Images for June!

Hi Everyone - yes it's new release time for this month!

The DT have been working with 5 amazing new designs including 2 clown digis, a mad knitter, a runaway bride and a head banging zombie!!

A Gruesome Zombie...

And Lisa's journal page is perfectly gruesome to match this image LOL!

 Holley's Batter up....

Runaway Bride - which of course reminds me of the film with Julia Roberts...
And Genny has captured her perfectly on her card:

This mad cap knitter is a real crack up - I'm sure you all know someone who knits madly??

Tit has done an amazing technicolour page with gorgeous multi colour scarf!

And more colouring from Genny - and yes knitting is cheaper than therapy...

And I've used this frantic knitting gal as well on a mixed media page...

And 2 great clown digis to have some fun with:

Judy's fabulous opening card which reveals the happy clown!

And Susan's gorgeous and colourful 2 page journal spread

And I've created with the poor sad clown....

Judy's Inspirational Post, Morning People

Hi Judy here.  I made this art journal page as my June's inspirational project.  I had fun with this great image called Tired Mom Needs Coffee.   The image can be found here. I just love the expression on her face. This was a fun project.

The background was created with a gell plate, several colours of acrylic paint and some textured wallpaper.  The pattern turned out very bold and I toned it down with a thin coat of gesso. I added the circles using a lid for a bottle and acrylic paint.  My image was coloured with Copics and a black charcoal pencil. The sentiment was created on my computer.

For more information on this project check out my blog

There is still time to join in the current challenge, Monochrome Challenge, just create your card or project using the current theme and enter it here.   Join us on Facebook

Mad hatter by Titbelsoeur

SLS MAY INSPI

Hi there, this is Titbelsoeur today, sharing my inspiration AJ page of the month with you.
I have used an old background page I have once made for a circus-like album, as I thought it should perfectly fit with this Mad Hatter...
meaning that one should never throw old papers !!
You never know whether you will use them or not !
I made this monoprinted background spraying ink to a cutting board, then used stencils with ink and acrylic paint.
I  colored this nice guy and his lovely cat with my usual Promarkers

Inspiration : Mad Hatter Portrait

Sal has now set up a proper website for her images (although the etsy with still be open)

Chubby Fairy

Here's a lovely image from SLS Lines, she's called Chubby Fairy. I think she is totally adorable! I added a fun sentiment from Hobby Lobby, "You can never have too much Happy."  She looks like she would bring a smile to the people around her.
Drop by the new store for SLS Lines images, and then check out this month's challenge. The theme is monotone. So pick your favorite color and create a card.

Chill Out....

Hi Everyone!

Sharing a large journal page creation today using a fun image from the store "Goth Girl with Striped Leggings" - just love this image - so great to colour and create this page with!

You can find her in one of 2 places - at the Etsy Store or Sal's New Website along with all the other amazing images, clipart and even fun workshops!

To create my page background I added strips of old book pages randomly over the page -my page was already pink from using up some paint from another creation!!
I then added texture paste through a 12 x 12 stencil to create the squares.
Once that was dry - or almost dry because I get impatient and just want to start on the next process - I used several colours of water soluble wax pencils to colour the squares randomly then spritzed with water and rubbed in with my finger.
I wanted the squares to have a shadowy look so I used more of the wax pastels in black and browns and drew borders around each square, spritzed again and used my trusty finger again!
To add a bit more depth I used a couple of Kaisercraft texture stamps with archival ink to add the graffiti look lettering and splodges!
Finally I fussy cut the copic coloured image and adhered to the page and added a bit of charcoal pencil and black wax pastel to the image to blend her into the page.
Finally added the "chill out" stickers and the page is done!!

Love how this turned out!!!

Stay tuned to this blog for more DT inspiration and also check out our current challenge for a chance to win some images from the store!!

Happy crafting!

Inspiration Post

Hi everyone...Genny here with my inspiration post. I have to say to find something from SLS that inspires me is very easy. I just love everything. As you get to know me..goodness help you..lol..you will soon come to recognise what I really love. Skulls, Owls, Cats tend to feature alot and I can get very excited about them. So when I saw this great Candy Skull, I just had to do it. I decided to keep to a very small and muted (for me) pallet..so I stuck to  shades of orange with green extras. I love to pick say 4 shades of 1 colour and just to see what it turns out like. I coloured the skull with my promarkers, cut it out and mounted it onto some black card. It is now on the wall in my parlour, alongside other skulls from SLS. I have to say it does surprise strangers to my house..but they always come round to loving what I do..I also have a collection of skulls that I have painted myself plus lots of ornaments of Skulls, including one from Transylvania. Why not take a look at all the skulls that are available from SLS.
One of the things that I love, being part of the DT is seeing all the fabulous creations that the others come up with. And of course I love seeing all your creations that you enter into the challenge. A new challenge is due to begin tomorrow..so I hope that you will all come along and join in the fun. So until next time..take care and happy crafting.

Inspiration from Susan R

Hi Susan R here

Just thought I would share a journal page today...

This page is inspired by 'Mexico' so I had to use DOTD images.
I have previously used these on cards - I decided I had to use them again!
The sugar skull image uses the spotlighting technique - just colouring certain areas with Promarkers. I coloured the whole of Dancing Skeletons 2 and Dancing Skeletons with Promarkers.

The first layer on my pages was formed using Ken Oliver Color Burst water colours.

I then added the various images plus some Mexican cutouts - cacti, guitars, chillies and sombreros - found on the internet. I painted the whole lot with Mod Podge.

Sal has now set up a proper website for her images (although the etsy with still be open) Find all her images here

Hope to see your makes in the next challenge starting on the 20th!

Happy Crafting!!

Why So Serious?

Hi everyone, Judy here. This is my inspirational art journal page for May.  Had lots of fun playing in my art journal book. The background of my page is a gelli print that I added some stenciled circles to.

The image I used from SLS Lines is one of my favourites called  Mad Court Jestor and can be found in the SLS Lines Esty shop here. I coloured my image with Copics and a charcoal pencil.  I used molding paste and a stencil around the image.  The molding paste was coloured gold using PanPastels.  I used a stencil for the  large wording and a Dymo for the "Have Fun".

Don't forget out current  Halloween challenge, there is still time to join the fun. Remember there is a new challenge on the 20th of every month.
