Seeing Red.....

Hi SLS Lines Fans

Today I have a quick little inspiration make to share with you using a really quirky cute bird image available in the store!

Here's a direct link to him: click here

I love making ATC's so that's what I created with this digi. Background is done with the "herringbone" style with strips of paper - a good tutorial on this can be found at Splitcoast Stampers - it's a quick technique, is great for using up scraps of paper and it always looks so effective!
A tip for you to make it even quicker - use double sided JAC paper - no glue mess or waiting for anything to dry!

Digi coloured with pastel pencils - a perfect "look" for his feathers! I added some fibre for him to stand on plus a couple of snowflake sequins and the wording is computer generated and printed. Patterned papers are digital files from Yellow Lemons Etsy Store - not sure if they are still available as I have had them for a long time.

I've entered this ATC at the current Wicked Wednesday which has a theme this week of "Seeing Red"!

Make sure you stay tuned for more inspiration posts this month - especially as we have some new DT members and you won't want to miss their amazing creations! Remember to check out our current challenge and also join our FB Group for lots of fun too!

Until next time happy crafting!

Susan R's January Inspiration Part 3

Hello...Susan R here again...

Today I am spotlighting SLSLines image Cute Monster Foodie...
I coloured the image with Promarkers and embossing powders.

For this card I looked in my stash and found every bit of cupcake related item...from paper to ribbon to toppers to decoupage...not sure where they all come from...

Susan R's January Inspiration - Part 2

Hi! Susan R here again...

Remember yesterday when I spotlighted this SLSLines Sugar Skull and the spotlighting technique?

Well today's card follows on from spotlighting and reminds me of the triple stamping technique and decoupage...

I used this image (Art Nouveau Flower Girl) just adding a touch of colour with Promarkers

I then used nesting dies to cut the three shapes from the image and emphasised them by adding the same shaped pieces of pink card behind them. I built up the layers with dimensionals. The rest of the card is a white card base with various layers of pink card, spotty DP from my stash, ribbon and heart gems - this could be a Valentine card...

Susan R's January Inspiration

Hi! Susan R here

Here is my inspiration post for you this month using an SLSLines image.

Today I am spotlighting this Sugar Skull and spotlighting the spotlighting technique.
In 'spotlighting', areas of the image are cut out - I used nesting dies here but they could have been punched. Only these ares are coloured.
You will find a tutorial for this here at Splitcoaststampers.
I used Promarkers and I emphasised the areas with circles of green card behind.

This was added to my card using various layers of orange and green and some DP from my scraps. I also added a die cut in orange.

Happy Crafting!

Challenge #16 Anything Goes plus DT Call!

Happy New Year to all our visitors here on the SLS Lines blog. We hope you have had a well rested, enjoyable time over the holidays and wish you all a very joyful and prosperous 2016!

Today we have a brand new challenge for you, our first of the year. But first, it is with great sadness that we start the year with the loss of a few of our Design Team members.

We say goodbye to Kate Edwards, Lori Thomas and Bettina Leikvoll. We wish these ladies all the very best and would be happy to see them back again in the future. Today is also the last challenge for Vicky Fortier who is also stepping down from the team at the end of January. You will all be missed.

*DT Call is now closed*

Thank you for your interest.

However, as one door closes, another opens. These departures leave us with some spaces to fill on the Design Team.

Please email Maureen (maureenjscott@googlemail.com) or contact her via Facebook (www.facebook.com/maureenjscott) if you would be interested in joining the team. Please tell us a bit about yourself, your crafty history, commitments and interests. No DT experience is necessary, however, if you can commit to creating 3 projects each month and posting your make via your blog, social media and/or other challenges then we would love to hear from you.

And now, for the challenge! This is an easy one - Anything Goes!
Here are some creations from the team to inspire you and we hope you'll join us!
