Susan R's January Inspiration

Hi! Susan R here

Here is my inspiration post for you this month using an SLSLines image.

Today I am spotlighting this Sugar Skull and spotlighting the spotlighting technique.
In 'spotlighting', areas of the image are cut out - I used nesting dies here but they could have been punched. Only these ares are coloured.
You will find a tutorial for this here at Splitcoaststampers.
I used Promarkers and I emphasised the areas with circles of green card behind.

This was added to my card using various layers of orange and green and some DP from my scraps. I also added a die cut in orange.

Happy Crafting!

Challenge #16 Anything Goes plus DT Call!

Happy New Year to all our visitors here on the SLS Lines blog. We hope you have had a well rested, enjoyable time over the holidays and wish you all a very joyful and prosperous 2016!

Today we have a brand new challenge for you, our first of the year. But first, it is with great sadness that we start the year with the loss of a few of our Design Team members.

We say goodbye to Kate Edwards, Lori Thomas and Bettina Leikvoll. We wish these ladies all the very best and would be happy to see them back again in the future. Today is also the last challenge for Vicky Fortier who is also stepping down from the team at the end of January. You will all be missed.

*DT Call is now closed*

Thank you for your interest.

However, as one door closes, another opens. These departures leave us with some spaces to fill on the Design Team.

Please email Maureen (maureenjscott@googlemail.com) or contact her via Facebook (www.facebook.com/maureenjscott) if you would be interested in joining the team. Please tell us a bit about yourself, your crafty history, commitments and interests. No DT experience is necessary, however, if you can commit to creating 3 projects each month and posting your make via your blog, social media and/or other challenges then we would love to hear from you.

And now, for the challenge! This is an easy one - Anything Goes!
Here are some creations from the team to inspire you and we hope you'll join us!

"Chimerical"

Hi SLS Fans!

Happy New Year to everyone - hope you have a very crafty 2016 planned!

Today I am sharing a journal page made for the Journal 52 - year long prompts FB Group!
Each week there are 2 prompts - this prompt was the second for Week 1 "Strange Word" - LOL - you had to think of the strangest word!!!

"CHIMERICAL"
wildly fanciful, imaginative, quirky etc.

And wasn't this just the PERFECT image to use on my page?????
Available in the Etsy Store for SLS Lines along with all the other "chimerical" images!!!!!
Here's a direct link to the Goth Girl with Fish Balloon: click here.

Background is acrylic paints and a Mini Mod Spirals stencil from The Crafters Workshop to make the frothy waves like the ocean to go with the swimming fish which were from a free digital collage sheet I have had for many years from Freubels Freebies.
Image coloured with pastel pencils and fussy cut and the fish were fussy cut too.
I am so happy with how this came out!!

Hope you like this page!
Remember we have a new challenge starting on the 12th - first challenge of 2016 and we would love to see what you can do with your SLS Lines images!!

Happy crafting everyone!

Happy New Year

Hello everyone!  Here's a fun die cut set that I got for Christmas this year, it's from Sizzix and makes these awesome stand up cards.  I am using it with this adorable cat stamp from SLS Lines today.  Aren't these fun hipster cats looking like they are ready for a party? I thought this image too funny for any party themed occasion.  This fun image is called party cats.
Check out all the fun images at SLS Lines and we're going to be starting off the new year on the SLS Lines challenge blog with our first challenge on Jan 12th with an Anything Goes challenge so be on the look out!  We'd love to have you come and play with us.

Cheers, Holley

An Alternate Xmas....

Hi Everyone

Hope you all had a great xmas!

Today I am sharing one last xmas creation using a SLS Lines image and digital patterned papers all available at the Etsy Store! I added cute little monsters to this balloon gal - she normally has balloons but for some fun I changed the balloons to monsters and added digital xmas hats to them all (also available from the store).

You can see the full instructions on how I made this card over at the Unruly Paperarts Site - all the supplies and step by step pics are in my article!!

Hope you are all looking forward to New Years Eve and a very creative 2016!!!

Keep your eye out for new images coming in January and lots more inspiration from the DT plus our monthly challenges in 2016!!
